…Thank you, William Hung, for the lovely introduction.
Fashion week has come and gone, but one trend that got my gears-a-turnin’ were the bangs, or “fringe” as some like to call them, that appeared on the runway. Even off the catwalk, we’ve seen the trend being donned by celebrities all over the place this year. Reese Witherspoon went wispy, Rihanna kept it sexy with side-swept, and Zooey Deschanel playfully keeps hers full.
As women, we are constantly updating our look to match the way that we feel. If you’re scouting a way to switch up your look, bangs are an easy change resulting in a dramatic difference in your image. Whether you choose something wispy or full, asymmetric or choppy, the bang is one of the few hairstyle changes that is not only bold, but quite versatile.
There are several questions to ask yourself prior to taking the plunge. Do you mind having hair constantly brushing against your face? Can you handle having to put in the extra maintenance for frequent trims? And most importantly, are you willing to style your bangs everyday day?
To avoid a disastrous, kindergarten “Mommy, I cut my own bangs” look, have a consultation with your hairstylist to review face shape, styling tips and ongoing maintenance.
So, what do you think – do you have what it takes to do a bang? If not, you can always test-drive the look with Jessica Simpson’s Hairdo, Hairuwear Clip-In Bangs.
Have fun exploring the big-bang theory,
