Halloween unfortunately falls during a weekday so that means this weekend is dedicated to celebrating the one holiday where a girl can wear just wings and lingerie and its a perfectly acceptable costume. For those of us who like to save the lingerie for the bedroom, here are a few ideas in case you were still trying to figure out what to do for all the Halloween celebrations. Happy Halloween and may you receive more treats than tricks!
Okay, so like any kid, I always wanted to be many things when I grew up. Some of them I would want to do just one day if it was possible from being a model to a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Now one of those dream jobs coincides with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise. I mean let’s be honest, when watching the James Bond movies who didn’t want to be a Bond Girl? I know I did and I still want to be one to this day.
There are three outfits that always make an appearance in the movies no matter who is playing the Bond Girl at the moment. Just in case you aren’t familiar the outfits are: 1. Bikini – that James Bond spots the lucky lady in 2. Dress – for the exclusive event that both Bond and the woman both happen to be a attending 3. Casual Wear – Just in case she survives the night, it’s for fighting the bad guys later on in the movie. I wonder if these choices were modeled after pageants or did the Bond movies come first? But anyways, these are my choices for what I would wear if I were a Bond Girl, you know just in case.
Now that Fashion Month is finally over, I decided for this week I would pick my favorite looks, which was harder than I thought, but these 28 looks from New York to Paris give you a sense of what I might go shopping for. For those who are lucky enough to purchase RTW clothing in advance, a lot of these items can be purchased on Moda Operandi. Now if I could get my hands on these items, I’d be the coolest girl ever for at least a month ;)
If I ever had the chance to become one of chosen ones to attend Fashion Week in the different fashion capitals of the world, what would I wear? Am I the only only who thinks we should start calling September and February the month of Fashion? Or have I missed the memo and we already are doing that. Obviously we are halfway through the month of fashion but I’ve been a tad bit busy between work and helping out with NYFW shows. Another random thought of mine, I was a model “pusher” for one of the shows and it made me think of this part of Means Girls. Back to the topic at hand here are my choices of what I would wear if I were an editor or someone who was attending the shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Look number one is devoted to NYFW and it’s where I would want to keep it lady-like with a bit of an edge. With the jacket I could also see it draped across my shoulders instead of putting it on like a normal person. With London, its all about the prints because who can do prints better than Mary ‘Can’t Pronounce Her Last Name’ Katrantzou. And as we trek over to Milan, I like to dress it up just a tad bit more but with a tomboy flair so under the destroyer jacket I would put a simple white t-shirt on. Following Milan is Paris obvis and that’s the grand finale of Fashion Month so of course with this last outfit I hope I would make a lasting impression. An all white outfit should do the trick and as we all know an all white outfit is a big Fall Winter trend for this year. Those are my selections so what is the verdict?
The past two weeks we had an intense introduction to the prominent trends for the Fall, clothing wise. So the next logical step would be to take a look at the shoe trends. I picked seven of the trends that I liked and I would probably wear all the shoes minus the Casadei boots only because I’m tall and with those on people might mistake me for those of a certain profession. Plus the majority of men/boys in DC are short so I’d be like a super Amazon woman compared to them haha. Shoe trends are self-explanatory but as you can see I picked two for each trend, the only one you might have trouble with is number five that refers to rich colors that were used on the runway such as tangerine, rose, etc.
Hopefully after looking at these shoe choices you decide to invest in a pair of shoes that can be used for years to come. Next week we will be wrapping up the Fall Trend Guide and then back to the normal WWMD? posts but I thought this would be fun for you all to see what I might purchase for myself if I had the rumored clothing allowance of Anna Wintour.
