2012 Grammy Awards: For the Love of All Things Glamorous

To most, the Grammy Awards are a night to spend with friends, a bottle of wine, and some popcorn. But for performers, the Grammys are one of the biggest nights in music. Stars flock to make their red carpet appearances donned with Hollywood glamour.

This is year was all about loose curls, fabulous eyeliner, and lashes, lashes, lashes!

Let’s check out a few of the most talked about (and my personal favorite) looks.

Not a chanteuse, but gorgeous nonetheless, Kate Beckinsdale showed off her long neck and amazingly defined jawline with her hair swept into a high ponytail of large, loose waves.

Known for her less than feminine role in the Underworld movies, Kate kept her look fresh and inviting with a classic smokey eye and glossy lip.

The most talked about of the night for sure, Adele, chose to stick to her retro-look with soft shoulder-length curls that perfectly complimented her 1940’s makeup.

Her signature thick black eyeliner, flirty lashes and that oh-so-amazing matte red lip screamed glamour. Photo-worthy makeup was a must for the Brit songbird as she swept all six of the awards in her nominated categories.

Carrie Underwood kept her look romantic with loose curls gently swept back, paired a natural lip and those perfect pearly whites.

The stunner of this look was those mile long lashes! Being a total lash junkie, I couldn’t take my eyes off of them.  At one point, my boyfriend even turned to me and said, “Babe, those are false eyelashes, right?” (Don’t tell him I told you that he noticed).

A blonde Rihanna stunned the crowd with her tousled curls, effortless piecey bangs, and obvious roots. She captivated cameras with a feline flare accentuated by charcoal tight-lined eyes and golden bronzed skin.

In the most glamorous way possible, her look could have translated perfectly onto the set of the musical RENT – channeling her inner “Mimi”. Meow.

Sadly enough, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj didn’t make my favorites list.  It’s OK tough, I’m sure they’ll make it onto a best dressed list somewhere.*
