Last week, on the 100 day mark to the countdown of the 2012 Summer Olympics, Today offered a peak of the Ralph Lauren closing ceremony parade uniforms and village wear uniforms. Ralph Lauren has previously designed Team USA’s apparel for Summer 2008 and Winter 2010 games.
Preppy and vintage are the first words that come to mind. Both men and women’s outfits for the closing ceremony parade feature button-front tops with the Team USA logo and Ralph Lauren big pony logo. The women’s skirt is also a button-front skirt, creating the image of a shirtdress.
The village wear pieces are similar to the pieces you can find on the consumer end. It features separates like jackets, shorts, tanks, and, of course, lots of polos.
For consumers, the U.S. Olympic Collection is available online. For women, there’s custom polo dresses, newsboy caps, leggings. For men, there’s more polos, jackets, and shorts. There’s even clothes for baby.
