What to Wear: Disney World

Last week C & I headed to Disney World for a mini get-away. It was his first time to Disney World and we had only a few days to explore, so we decided on Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Before heading out to Orlando I kept thinking to myself, “what does one wear in Disney?” I hadn’t been since I was a child, so naturally it was my first thought. I knew I couldn’t be the only one who wondered this when packing, so I decided to put together a few suggested looks for future travelers. To top it off, I had an extra mission having to pack for two weeks of Florida weather, as we are also here for business and traveling straight to New York (to the cold) for New York Fashion Week. This my friends, is a whole-nother challenge.

Here’s what I wore to Magic Kingdom:

Top: Target // Shorts: BDG (on sale at Urban Outfitters) // Bag: H&M (old) // Sneakers (not pictured): Target // Sunglasses: Woodroze c/o

what to wear: disney world

1. If you’re headed to Disney in the “winter months” it does get cooler, this Chambray top will do the trick – JC Penney, $35 // 2. & 3. It’s Disney World, you’re allowed to be a big kid – (2/3) Forever 21, $15 // 4. & 5. A spin on the baseball tee with a high-low style – Forever 21, $9 // 6. Keeping it comfy with linen draw string shorts – Old Navy, $19 // 7. Khaki shorts can be boring, mix it up with a cute pattern – Old Navy, $20 // 8. Not in the mood for shorts? Try these bright & light skinnies – Old Navy, $30 // 9. Classic cut-off denim, BDG does it best – Urban Outfitters, $39

what to wear: disney world accessories

1. While at the Disney parks, the last thing you want to do is carry a bag. I highly recommend a cute cross body – Forever 21, $25 // 2. Baseball caps are in. Try out this super inexpensive, girly print – Forever 21, $6 // 3. Need more room than what a cross body offers? Try out this canvas backpack – Urban Outfitters, $39 // 4. Thanks to Lauren from www.lainthebay.com, I was introduced to these Karen Walker inspired sunnies. You won’t have to worry if you accidentally lose them because you had too much fun – Sosie, $12 // 5. Although they do not release till February, these Kate Spade for Keds would be perfect for your trip – Keds, $75 // 6. In between Keds and a sneaker, these will still keep you stylish – Superga, $65 // 7. Aside from their great cause, Tom’s are comfortable and light for lots of walking – Tom’s, $54 // 8. You really can’t go wrong with a classic sneaker – Nike, $75

Headed to Disney any time soon and need some tips for where to go, what to see and what to wear? Feel free to shoot me an email, karina[at]kcyouthere[dot]com.

10 Things I Plan to do in 2013

 1

Don’t think of this as my New Year’s resolutions. Think of this as a list of goals I want to accomplish & make me happy. Resolutions seem to never come true, but setting goals do – at least for me. Here are my top ten things I plan to do in 2013..as of today.

1. Indulge in a completely lazy weekend bare of iPhones, laptops, iPads and everything in between. The T.V. stays.

2. Plan our first trip to Paris.

3. Purchase at least 3 major investment pieces, I’m already looking at thisthis and this.

4. Lose at least 20 pounds by working out at least 5 days per week (already lost 3, woo!).

5. Cook more, eat out less.

6. Find our perfect New York City apartment.

7. Compare myself less to others, appreciate my own success.

8. Take C to Disney World for the first time (I’m cheating on this one, we leave for Disney on Tuesday).

9. Try something completely new. I haven’t decided what yet, but something.

10. Wake up to this everyday:

Of course, my list isn’t cheap, but is it ever?

KC Goes West: San Diego

From Vegas to San Diego.

C & I needed some serious R&R and San Diego had our names written all over it. With his twin brother being a Buffalonian turned Californian, we had an amazing home to stay in and a personal tour guide. Granted, I was terrified that we’d arrive to a not so girl-friendly home, but I was surprisingly wrong. Hey, you never know what to expect from a 26 year-old, single guy.

Somehow, we were SD virgins, so of course we went to the must-see spots – Pacific Beach, La Jolla Coves (sea lions and all), Downtown San Diego (Gaslamp District), Coronado Island with tons of beach side cocktails and yummy grub.

KC Goes West: Las Vegas

The first two weeks of October we were off on the West Coast for both business and pleasure. We started off our trip in Las Vegas for the Justin Timberlake Shriners Open with one of our PR clients, OnCore Golf (they’re pretty amazing). A little background on the company, they’re the world’s first & only hollow, steel golf ball. Both the President & VP are 30 and under and have incorporated the world of art into their brand. Good friend and mega artist, Brian Kirhagis acts as the corporate artist and allows for guests to putt the OnCore Golf ball over a blank canvas with red and black paint to create a work of art – you heard it from OnCore first.

You may have seen many of these shots on Instagram, but here’s our week in Vegas in pictures..
